SQL Server Database Migration : DB-Migrate V 4.0 : PowerShell Module to Migrate Databases

This is an update on DB-Migrate Module. The change log is mentioned below.

Changes in SQL Server Database Migration PowerShell Module on 27th Dec 2012

  1. Version Check. Move-Database function now checks for Source and Destination versions. As Sql Server doesn’t supports detach/attach method when moving database from higher to lower Instance, the function terminates.
  2. Fixed a bug where in no database is selected when source instance has only one database to be moved.

Download and rename the file to DB-Migrate.psm1. Check below blog for how to install and use DB-Migrate module
