Dear SQL/Data Geeks,

Join me in welcoming the Senior PM for Azure SQL Data Warehouse Microsoft

Joe Yong

Meet Joe @ DPS 2017
Meet Joe @ DPS 2017

Please join me in welcoming Joe Yong, a returning speaker from SSGAS 2016.

Joe is currently in the Azure SQL Data Warehouse team working primarily on the storage engine and tier-1 EDW scenarios. Prior to this, he was the PM owner of SQL Server 2016 Stretch Database; the first truly hybrid database in the industry.

Joe cut his database teeth on Oracle serving hard time as a developer then DBA. One too many ORA-01555 later, he joined Microsoft to work on SQL Server in the areas of upgrade/migrate, performance, scalability and security. Between stints in the product group he spent several years as a consultant working with customers around the world to design, deploy and manage business critical systems.

When AFK, Joe tries to power drift, onsight 5.11s or hunt for good eats (efforts to cure his 4-year old Australian Labradoodle’s obsession with squeaky tennis balls is on indefinite hold).

Joe will present Breakout sessions, Open-Talks and Chalk-Talks at Data Platform Summit 2017.

Joe is equally excited to be part of Asia’s largest Data and Analytics conference.

What does it mean for you? This is once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Joe, hear Joe, meet Joe and learn from Joe!

Simply put, so excited to begin announcing SQL rockstars for DPS 2017 this way. This is just the beginning of our announcements about the battery of power-packed speakers we are bringing to the Data and Analytics community in Asia. Keep watching this space for my next announcement!
